A Cabinet Painting Company Built Around Counted Doors And Written Scope

Newmarket Cabinet Painting exists because the gap between a good cabinet painting job and a bad one is invisible on the day it finishes and obvious two winters later. Every part of the cabinet painting here is arranged around what decides which of those you get: thorough degreasing, a primer chosen for the actual substrate, thin sprayed coats scuffed between passes, and enough patience to let the film cure.

We carry full insurance on every job. Beyond that we make no claims about ourselves on this website, because claims are cheap and a written scope is not. What goes in writing on a cabinet painting quote is how many doors, how many drawer faces, the material found, which primer, which topcoat, what sheen, the number of coats, the price, and the exclusions named rather than implied.

This Town Has More Old Kitchens Than Anywhere Its Size Should

Newmarket is small, old and fully built out, with almost no land left for new subdivisions. The result is an unusual concentration of kitchens from the 1960s through the 1990s still sitting in houses whose owners are not going anywhere, and cabinet painting those kitchens is the work this business does.

The 1965 to 1977 splits and bungalows of Huron Heights and the older half of Bristol-London hold birch and plywood slab doors. The late 1980s and early 1990s brick houses through Armitage, Glenway Estates and Summerhill Heights hold golden oak raised panel by the hundred. Stonehaven and Woodland Hill hold big maple and cherry kitchens from the 1990s and 2000s. Holland Landing and the rest of East Gwillimbury mix older village housing with a large cohort of new factory white shaker. Each of those is a different cabinet painting job, which is why the full list of services is split the way it is.

We Say The Thing That Costs Us The Job

Thermofoil with a lifting skin cannot take cabinet painting, and we will say so instead of quoting it. Particleboard swollen under a leaking sink needs replacing before anything else happens. Sound veneer in walnut, cherry or white oak generally looks better refinished than painted, as the page on keeping the wood explains.

We will also say when a kitchen is worth less than the job. Interior paint applied in Canada before 1980 may contain lead, so old site-built cabinets get tested before aggressive sanding rather than assumed safe. And a fine line opening along a panel edge each February is wood movement in a town that runs cold from December to March, which we explain before the deposit instead of after the phone call.

How We Work

  • Count first, then price

Every quote names how many doors and drawer faces, the material found, the primer, topcoat, sheen and coat count, plus what is left out. The scope is written down so the price can be checked.

  • Prep decides the result

Thorough degreasing, a primer chosen for the real material, and thin sprayed coats scuffed between passes decide how the finish lasts. The gap shows two winters later, not on the day it is done.

  • Say it even if it costs the job

Lifting thermofoil, swollen particleboard and sound veneer that suits refinishing all get an honest answer. Old site-built cabinets are tested for lead paint before aggressive sanding.

  • Visits fit real schedules

This is a commuter town, so evening and Saturday visits are normal. The visit runs about forty minutes, someone counts doors and checks the worst one, and a written quote follows at no charge.
